The PPC-6ME is a miniaturized photovoltaic power converter designed to convert 790 – 850 nm light into electrical power up to 6 V. It provides totally isolated electrical power from a few mW to 100 mW depending on source intensity.
The PPC-6ME is 1 mm x 1 mm in chip form, and less than 2 mm diameter in fiber coupled package form. This exceptionally small dimension allows placement of an isolated power source within internal organs or blood vessels, enabling new medical sensor applications.
The small package also enables powering of electrically isolated miniature sensors in high magnetic, electric field or nuclear environments.
Available in chip form, with ST or FC housings, or fiber pigtailed with ST or FC connectorized terminations for 52.5, 100 or 200 µm core fiber.
