Ethernet/Fibre Channel Transceivers

Ethernet/Fibre Channel Transceivers

JDSU integrated fiber-optic transceivers provide a high speed serial electrical interface for connecting processors, switches, and peripherals using fiber optic technology. The 1 - 10 Gb/s serial optical converters are designed for the increased densities, higher performance, and lower power consumption required in high data rate network environments and applications. Those applications include gigabit Ethernet and Fibre Channel applications: storage networks to HBAs, backbone networks/LANs to NAS-as well as client/server environments, distributed multiprocessing, and data acquisition.

JDSU products are available in hot pluggable or pin through hole versions. The transceivers' small footprint enables use in applications where dimension constraints are critical to the overall design. They allow manufacturers to double the density of transceivers on a board compared to what was possible with older designs, increasing network connections. The transceivers maintain signal integrity throughout the transmission process and have a bit error rate of less than 10 to the minus 12. They offer RoHS compliance, multiple data rates, and distances up to 20 km for various applications, excellent reliability, and performance. Plus, they're easy to configure and replace.
