Wavelength Selective Switch Circuit Pack (PDF, 0.15 MB)
JDSU’s Agile Optical Switch family provides the broadest portfolio of ROADM solutions designed to match the requirements of major market segments. They are building blocks of Agile Optical Networks and provide the flexibility to remotely reconfigure any or all wavelengths, thereby reducing time-to-service, simplifying the network, and streamlining planning and management. This results in significant Opex and Capex reductions and faster time to revenue. In addition, they enable the cost-effective creation and deployment of more complex network architectures.
The JDSU Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) Circuit Pack provides core wavelength switching and optical power control for ROADM and wavelength switch nodes. Offered in a passively cooled 2U shelf configuration with a full suite of control features, the WSS Circuit Pack affords network equipment providers with a critical head start to the development and deployment of their Agile Optical Network.
The WSS Circuit Pack features a fully controllable 5x1 wavelength switch, which is capable of selectively switching wavelengths from any of the five input ports to the common output port on a wavelength-selective basis. Wavelength blocking and attenuation capabilities allow for the finely tuned power grooming of high performance transmission networks. The circuit pack incorporates power splitting for broadcast-and-select node applications and integrated power monitoring.
