The Designer's Resource

Visitors to the JDSU Color Design Studio in Santa Rosa, California, will have access to facilities and technical resources necessary to select and develop custom colors utilizing ColorShift pigments. The facility was designed as a creative and productive environment that encourages imagination and innovation while helping designers rapidly create custom special color effects.

Designers can customize color effects that can add a strong visual aspect to their product design and are suitable to markets requiring pizzazz as well as to markets expecting sophisticated or subtle, but still unique colors.

Color Concept Development 

A visit to our Color Design Studio can significantly reduce the lead-time and costs associated with developing new and exciting visual color effects:

• A designer may choose to select a color concept from the walls of our color library. The color library contains over 2000 different color swatches in a wide range of hues and chromas. All formulation and pigmentation information for each of the library colors is documented in our computerized database.
• Corporate or brand identification colors may also be used as inspiration for individualized color concepts. Color concepts are custom prepared per the designer's needs/requests. 

Prototyping Capabilities

The Application Laboratory associated with the Color Design Studio has the capability and technical know-how that allows the designer to see their part in the color/visual effect that they have selected/designed.

 

Exploring Custom Palettes 

ColorShift pigments have significantly broadened the color palettes for most consumer product and industrial color decision makers. The resulting strong product differentiation that is provided by the resulting unique visual effects can serve to distinguish products in crowded marketplaces and enhance brand equity. 

ColorShift visual effects simply attract more attention due to their higher chromaticity or because the color shift adds an extra dimension of visual interest-enhancing the contour of the product, changing with movement or with viewing/lighting conditions.
