Test and monitoring systems are typically deployed network-wide and represent a substantial investment. The high degree of complexity and integration with existing systems creates a unique challenge from a support perspective.
JDSU has had extensive experience deploying and maintaining our systems throughout our history. Our field engineering force has installed thousands of remote systems in networks of all types. Our software integration teams have linked JDSU’s test and monitoring OSSs with provisioning OSSs, circuit databases and surveillance OSSs. Our on-site support engineers have provided service for some of the largest carriers in the world, including ILECs, IXCs, Wireless Carriers and CLECs. We are confident we can provide the same level of service for your systems.
In addition to system support services, JDSU is uniquely positioned to help you develop applications so that you realize the full value of your system. Our engineers understand where remote testing and monitoring fit into your overall provisioning and maintenance processes, and we can help you craft automated test scripts and written methods and procedures to ensure flow-through operations.

SystemCare Implementation Services
- Deployment
- JDSU offers full installation, integration, configuration and program management services to ensure effective implementation of our systems. Our field engineers connect the remote test units to the appropriate network elements and make all appropriate connections to the data communications network. We also install and configure the test management software in your network operations center. Trusting us with system deployment saves time and reduces repeat visits, so you start using the system as soon as possible.
- System Training
- We offer open enrollment and on-site courses for JDSU systems. We make sure your operators and system administrators are comfortable with the system and are able to use it to its fullest potential.
- Test and Turn-Up Assistance
- For customers who prefer to perform the physical installation themselves and ask us to perform final configuration and certification. We offer planning services and site visits to perform a visual inspection of the system, final card insertion, programming of the system and execution of a complete test and certification procedure.
- Re-Certification for Change of Ownership
- JDSU first remotely tests and then visits the customer site to re-certify the system, making the system eligible for TAC support and placing it under a one year warranty.
SystemCare Support Services
JDSU offers tailored SystemCare support contracts for your JDSU system. These annual contracts, comprised of any or all of the following services, ensure that your system continues to operate at peak performance, thereby reducing downtime and expenses.
- Center Support Engineer
- An JDSU system engineer is assigned to you to provide on-site support. This individual is an expert on the system and understands your network. He or she can perform a variety of services according to your needs, including supplemental hands-on training, operational process improvement, enhanced technical support, system administration support, and on-site repair. The Center Support Engineer can be full-time or contracted in monthly, weekly or daily increments.
- Extended Technical Assistance Center (TAC) Support/Expedited On-Site Support
- JDSU offers toll-free hotline support 24 hours a day, seven days a week. If it is determined that on-site support is necessary to help resolve a system problem, JDSU personnel are dispatched to your site within 72 hours.
- Expedited Hardware Module Sparing
- Support JDSU maintains an inventory of hardware modules outside of manufacturing. When TAC diagnoses a module failure, a new module is shipped out overnight in advance of receiving the broken module.
- Software Maintenance Agreements
- You automatically receive all software releases, including corrections and enhancement releases. An annual agreement makes it easier to budget for software upgrades in advance, and guarantees that your systems stay current.
- Remote Software Upgrades
- JDSU personnel travel to a centralized location of your choosing and remotely upgrade the software throughout your network.
- Extended Warranty
- You may extend the warranty period either before or after the standard warranty has expired. JDSU can prorate extended warranties to allow for coterminous expiration for multiple systems.
- Repair
- JDSU offers repair services for your systems on-site or return-to-factory.
- Customer Premise Inventory/Configuration Check
- From your site, JDSU remotely links to each connected test system and inventories the connectivity and configuration of each test system. At the conclusion of the audit, we produce a site configuration report. This report summarizes the status of each site in the network with regards to connectivity and system configurations.
