Optical Pumping
Semiconductor laser diodes used to optically pump the solid-state laser gain media have extremely long lifetimes, are efficient enough to dramatically reducing the heat in the laser gain media, and offer excellent output spatial profiles for better optical wavelength conversion.
Because of their excellent reliability, laser diodes from JDSU are ideally suited for use in solid state laser and fiber laser pumping, and are increasingly being used in thermal exposure, illumination, ophthalmology, image recording, printing, spectral analysis, optical data storage, material processing, and medical applications.
